Mini Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Health, hosted by TÜSEB, was held
Following “II. International Artificial Intelligence in Health Congress” held in cooperation with İzmir Bakırçay University, İzmir Provincial Health Directorate and International Artificial Intelligence in Health Association, the mini symposium series are aimed to be held in order for the researchers to keep up-to-date their interests in artificial intelligence, to improve their knowledge, to be informed about the current issues.
The VI. Series of Mini Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Health, hosted by TÜSEB and organized by Turkish Health Data Research and Artificial Intelligence Institute, was held with the theme of “Medical Imaging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Solutions” on December 29th, 2021.
President of TÜSEB Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan and Rector of İzmir Bakırçay University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Berktaş made the opening speeches and five sessions, moderated by Director of TÜYZE Prof. Dr. Songül Varlı, was held. Following the presentation on physiotherapy and virtual rehabilitation software systems by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Sinan Akgül from Gebze Technical University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ural Koç working in Interventional Radiology Unit in Ankara City Hospital shared the story of the first artificial intelligence in health competition in Turkey organized by TÜSEB in TeknoFest 2021, and gave information about the competition to be planned in TeknoFest 2022.
In the third session of symposium, co-founder of Argenit Smart Info Technologies Dr. Abdülkerim Çapar made his presentation on how they benefit from AI in genetic diagnosis, and how they use deep learning methods during karyotyping in detection of chromosomal aberrations. Then, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esin Öztürk Işık from Boğaziçi University mention their studies on the detection of brain tumours mutations from MR images. Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkay Öksüz from İstanbul Technical University completed the sessions of symposium with the presentation on detection of cardiac MR images quality issues and solution methods.
President of TÜSEB Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan, Rector of İzmir Bakırçay University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Berktaş and President of International Artificial Intelligence in Health Association Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahu Pakdemirli made their closing speeches in the symposium.
