TEKNOFEST 2022 Black Sea Regıon
The first and only Aerospace and Technology Festival of Türkiye – TEKNOFEST, which has been organized since 2018 in order to raise awareness on national manufacturing in technology with the National Technology Move in Turkey and to discover scientists and engineers of the future, was held in Black Sea Region.
“Artificial Intelligence in Health Competition”, which was organized by Türkiye Health Data Research and Artificial Intelligence Applications Institute (TÜYZE) under the roof of TÜSEB for the first-time last year in Türkiye, made great contributions into development of health sciences and technologies in Türkiye with a total of 6 competitions for 3 separate categories in TEKNOFEST 2022 BLACK SEA REGION.
Within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2022, more than 100 competitors from Secondary and Higher education levels attended in 6 competitions of which was held in 3 main categories as “Category of Abdominal Disease Detection via Computer Vision”, “Category of Medical Technologies” and “Category of Development of Artificial Intelligence Based Analysis Methods in Bioinformatics”, supported by Directorate General for Health Information Systems and conducted by TÜSEB in Ordu on July 29 – 31, 2022. The competitors introduced their studies to the experts and visitors during the 3-day event.
In each category, the leading experts evaluated the presentations and projects of competitors. The results were announced at the main ceremony held in Samsun on August 30 – September 4, 2022.
Both in Ordu and Samsun, the visitors were able to experience science and technology thanks to various activities that continue throughout the day at TÜSEB stand area such as Examining Human Anatomy with Virtual Reality Technology, DNA Analysis, and Beat Viruses game. Moreover, the visitors informed on the first domestic and national COVID-19 vaccine named TURKOVAC supported by TÜSEB; COVID-19 diagnostic kit DiaKit developed by TÜSEB; and the activities of TÜSEB.
At the main event in Samsun, various thematical presentations were delivered by Türkiye Health Data Research and Artificial Intelligence Applications Institute. Director of TÜYZE Prof. Dr. Songül Varlı delivered a presentation titled “Medical Image Analysis with Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems”, Dr. Mehmet Emin Aktan from TÜYZE “Robotic Rehabilitation and Engineering Dimensions”, and Lec. Yasemin Topuz “Virtual Reality in Medical Education" in Health Technologies and Good Life Tent. Additionally, as a guest of TÜYZE, Prof. Dr. Mine Elif Karslıgil from Yıldız Technical University delivered her presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence – Artificial Learning and Medicine Applications” in Smart Systems and Transport Tent.
The teams ranking the highest were presented their awards by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEKNOFEST Selçuk Bayraktar.
